Leisure Suit Larry
Abstract: Much of popular and critical attention to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) representation in video games has focused on either same-sex romance options or explicitly LGBTQ major game characters, but little has been written about more minor but equally important forms of representation. In this chapter, Adrienne Shaw analyzes a game series that is at its core about heterosexual masculinity, Leisure Suit Larry, to explore how LGBTQ representation permeates texts even when they are “not about that.”
